About Lakoy

Lakoy is a Danish software company. We make apps for people who set their own direction and want their work to stay in files they own.

What we are building

We are building Lakoy into an operating system for human self-realization in an AI world. It will bring your goals, your knowledge and the AI that helps you with them into one system that you control. The parts we build first are the tools for the files that system rests on.

The apps

Every document you save in a Lakoy app is plain Markdown, so it stays readable in other apps, by other people and by AI assistants.

• Markant is a Markdown reader for the Mac. It is free on the Mac App Store.
• Graphmark is a mind-map editor that saves every map as Markdown. It is coming soon.
• The Lakoy app is in development.

Open standards

We created the MarkBooks format, which packages Markdown pages and their pictures in one file, and released the specification under CC0. Anyone can implement it.
